Anywhere around the world Danone is making a very aggressive campaign showing the benefits for the health that are the Actimel and the Activia (former Bio).

The only one thing that makes the Actimel is the same one than the regular yoghurt. I has nothing else. Just a lot of publicity and some lie at it.

Since Actimel get out to the market the bacterium that compose it changed it name. First was L. casei inmunitas. With this they wanted to say that it helps to the immune. Now is called L. casei defensis. So you can understand that it defends your organism. In reality the L. casei's strain used by Danone is DN-114001 del L. Casei. It has nothing special. Besides the it price is double than a regular yoghurt.

The easy that Danone changes it bacterium names has nothing of scientific. Is the same about they say about their exclusive strains. But they have nothing exclusive.

The regular yoghurt is made from the bacterium Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Strerptococus thermophilus. And it has to be named yoghurt just when the bacterium are alive at the end of the process. There are lactic products called pasteurized yoghurts, but if you pasteurize the yoghurt what you make is to cook it and to kill the beneficial bacterium. But it never will be yoghurt. Doesn't matter that some companies from different countries made force to be allowed to sell this product like yoghurt.

Actimel is another yoghurt made by another Lactobacillus. So, is a yoghurt without something special.

I remember that in the beginning to appear in the market the Actimel the publicity said that every Actimel had 10 billions' L. casei immunitas. That's a lot if you think about it. By coincidence, I was studing Biology at that time. At Food microbiology we analyzed the Actimel and we obtained 1 million of bacterium by any Actimel. The difference between what it was said at the advertisements and what we obtained was huge. Comparing what it said Danone and what we obtained was:

10.000.000.000 According with Danone
1.000.000 Laboratory result

The difference is big.

Is the same with the Activia (former Bio, but like it wasn't from a biological culturing the EU forbade to use this name), it is made by Lactobacillus bifidus. But Danone, again, uses the publicity name Bifidus actiregularis. It plays with the name Activia and the word regulation to sell that it regulates the digestive tract. And it is just another youghurt with a yoghurt properties. Because if you have digestive problems an ordinary yoghurt helps to you to regulate it.

From the Lactobacillus bifidus family are:

  1. B. Longum

  2. B. Fijidum

  3. B. Infantis

  4. B. Breve

Because that the Danone's name is just marketing. The Danone's strain is Bifidobacterium animalis DN173010. That about Actiregularis is just a Danone's invention. Nothing scientific.
Danone has like ows the strains:

  1. Bifidus Digestivum

  2. Bifidus Regularis

  3. Bifidobacerium Lactis

  4. Bifidus ActiRegularis

But, this is just marketing. Those strains don't exist in the Nature. Any scientific never will say to you that strains exist.

The problem is that the organizations that had to regulate this deceiving advertisements allow this.

Even the Actimel and Activia (curious name similarity) advertisements say to you to make the Actimel challenge or the Activia challenge to prove how good you will feel when you eat it for a time. If you make the same with the ordinary yoghurt you will have the same result.

But people don't stop to think about it.

Now you know what's the matter. So you can eat a youghurt or you can eat a yoghurt that will cost to you double and it will give you the same res

No té res d'especial.

There are some songs that have a lot of success, that everybody remember ti, but never more where heard about the groups who sing it.

Whe start with the german group Fool's garden and Lemon tree. With this song they had top hip in Europe and Asia.

Lou Bega has his biggest hit with this version from the Dámaso Pérez Prado's Mambo nr 5

Here the Dámaso Pérez Prado's song

The song Tic Tic Tac was heard in the 90's thanks to the band Carrapicho. They had a hit with this song in Europe, Southamerica and Israel. They had'nt another hit like this one.

Carry on with the brazilian music we have to Ballini i Samba de Janeiro

If you pay attention the dance is a mix between the dance form Whigfield, with Saturday night, and Los del Rio with Macarena

To them who just know to Los del Rio from this version of Macarena, there was in Spain a first version. Which was made disco to make it more commercial in the rest of the world.

To finish today, another one-hit wonder, the Ketchup (they had more records, but no so success like this hit) and the Asereje (you can heard the original Spanish version in the Spanish like in this topic). It's true that they had more CD's, and they did sing in Eurovision, but this was their only one top hit. The Chorus is a plagiarism from the beginning from The Sugarhill gang's song Rapper's Delight. And they copied the music from the son Good times from Chic

Since I remember always was taught that Christopher Columbus was a trader from Genoa which arrived to America believing that he arrived to the old Cipango (Japan) and Cathay (China) and furthermore he arrived by chande. Moreover it is said that he was cartographer and he did know Marco Polo's history and he did want to arrive to Cipango by the West, since as he believed that the Earth was more little that is in reality. He offered the project to the king of Portugal who did turn down it and later he offered the project to the Catholic Kings, who accepeted it and they helped him to subsidize it. So he embarked to Asia and he did find America.
Basically this is the story and so I did believe it for a long time (in fact this is the official story). But long taime ago, in the beginnig of the 90's, when it was talked about the conmemoration of the America discovery's V centenary, it arrived to my hands a newspaper article where the journalist talked about Juan Manzano, Columbus scholar, and who defended the hypothesis that the sailor knew already America's existence before "discrovered" it. According to him it arrived to the mariner the America's knowledge through an unknown pilot. Columbus was married with a noble portuguesse and he went to live to the Madeira island where her father was gobernor. When he was there arrived dying an unknowun pilot. There is who says, like the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega in his Comentarios reales de los incas (translated complete into English in 1961 as The Incas) who says that this pilot was the mariner Alonso Sánchez de Huelva. On the other hand there are who say that the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega just did write a story that he heard to some saylors about Columbus when he was child and the pilot's real name is unknown.
According with Juan Manzano, studing Columbus diary you can see that from the Canari Islands the distances doesn't coincide, but if you go down to the Green cap islands, the distances coincide. Furthermore the sea streams can transport the ships even without wind (like some occasions according with Columbus diary). On the other hand Manzano also said that Columbus followed the sea streams that go to America on the way out and the streams that go to Europe to return. Avoiding the Sargasso sea where there is almost no ship motion because the Sargasso sea characteristic, which is surrounded by two big streams that cross the Atlantic

Regardless of the circumstances is seems very interesting that Columbus live is an enigma. From his pictures all are identikit pictures. He never did pose for a picture. If no, why any picture is different?

But, how is possible that somebody could manage to make good contacts with the nobility and even with the royalty? Besides to obtain a deal about something that in theroy was not discovered already.
In the head of the Santa Fe Agreement says:
"The things implored and that Your Highness give and bestow to Mrd Christopher of Columbus, in any satisfaction of that what discovered in the Oceans and the travel that now, with God's help, he has to make by it to Your Highness service, are the ones that are below:"

But if nothing was discovered yet, why it is writted "of that what discovered"? Columbus did know that there was something, and it was not Cathay.
The fact that Columbus had a previous knowledge from the lands to "discover" is not new. From a long time more people worked with this idea. But Juan Manzano was the first to use tangible proofs. From the information that I did read about the topic, I did like the more the one form José Antonio Hurtado, who proves that Columbus had a Templar origin's map (that is writted just in Spanish) and in his web about Columbus he set out that he had previous knowledges about America because he was cartographer and cartographer descendant (that could include some kind of lodge). Even set out very clear how wrong were made the Ptolemy maps when it was tryed to interpret it and how doing well done the calculations you can see very clear that everything was well cartographyed and not the distort maps showed from the ancient times.

If you pay attention to the map above, on the very left side there are islands aligned ones above the others in the Atlantic. Impossible that island are the Canary Islands because they are not ones above the others. But if you pay attention to the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea, you will see that those are aligned. Those are the Fortunate Island that said Ptolemy.

A lot of people said that there was this previous knowledge. The problem, like several things, is that there is an agreement to don't move anythind and left it like is known now. Not to make any kind of revision.

A forma mindegy.

A recept 4 személyre:

1 kis pohár rizs személyenként. Kövérebb szemű rizst használunk ennek a főzési ideje is hosszabb.

A krumplikat felkarikázzuk körülbelül 1 ujjnyi vastagra.

A közepébe belenyomjuk a fej fokhagymát.

This recipe has some variations. There are who put more kind of sausage. The recipe which I write is the one that I usually eat.
This is a valencian tipical dish. To me, personally, I like it more than the paella.
I do not cook with the exact quantities. I cook by the lump. Because that I give some mesueres in cups.

In the one hand we need a mud casserole. It can be round or square. It dependes on your preference or according with what do you have.

The ingredients for 4 people are:

  1. A cup of rice per person. The rice is the bomb kind. I use the marc La Fallera. Which personally I like more.
  2. Double water than rice. This is, if for 4 people we need 4 cups of rice, then, we need 8 cups of water.
  3. A handful of chikpeas.
  4. A quarter kilo of ribs (cutted up).
  5. A quarter kilo of belly pork (cutted up in dices).
  6. Potatoes. From this I do not give the exact quantity. It by the lump also. If the potatoes are big, then we need 2 potatoes per 4 people.
  7. 2 big ripen tomatoes.
  8. 1 black pudding (blood sausasge) per person. If the black puddings are big, like in the picture, then we need just 1 for all.
  9. 1 bulb of garlic.
  10. Food coloring (if you have saffron is better, but more expensive)
  11. Salt
  12. Olive oil (if not sunflower oil)
Put the pickpeas in water a whole nite (then it will be softer the next day).
The potatoes, after peel it, you have to cut it in (aprox.) a finger thickness slices. You have to fry it untill it has a golden color. Next you have to fry the ribs, following the belly pork. At the end you cut the potatoes in half and you fry both sides a little. Everything you have to fry it separately. I do it in this order that I explained to use the oil, because the potatoes need more quantity.
When everything is fried, you have to put it into the mud casserole putting at the end the pichbeas and the rice, which fill the spaces between the meat, potatoes and tomatoes. On the top you put the bulb of garlic.
Next you put the water, the salt and the food coloring. You left the black pudding out for later. You insert the casserole into the oven which previously was hot.
In the meanwhile the rice is cooking you can taste the water to know if you need to add more salt. You can toss the rice a little in the meantime is cooking. You have to cook over a medium heat during 30 minuts. When it left 5 or 10 minuts to finish you have to put on the top the black pudding. You put it almost at the end because if you put it in the beginning it will burst.

Some people use also spicy sausages and loin of pork
